I am a teacher-scholar of communication and rhetoric with particular interest in Northern Plains regionalism of the United States and Canada. I ask questions about how our words influence space, place, and civic life. In the classroom, I encourage my students to make new connections between seemingly disparate fields, revealing new forms of understanding. I occasionally sit outside and talk to grass.
